Sri Govinda Dham is the community centre and headquarters of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Sridhar Mission Australia. The centre is spiritually affiliated with the Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, Nabadwip, India. Our founding members were initiates of the Founder of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj. The centre was inaugurated in 1996 in the presence of Srila Sridhar Maharaj’s chosen successor, Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj. Srila Govinda Maharaj returned later in 1996 to establish daily worship of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu our beloved Golden Lord. Regular worship is carried out daily by our community members through the blessings of our spiritual teachers.

We continue to provide shelter, outreach, spiritual nourishment and guidance in the line of our Gurus with our principal teachings the practice of humility, tolerance and giving honour to others, while constantly glorifying the Lord through the chanting of His Holy Names. Sri Chaitanya has given us the best form of the Lord’s holy names which give the greatest benefit and that is the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra, Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.

We are open 7 days a week and welcome all spiritual seekers and aspirants to come and search out their spiritual fortune.

Fundamentally, the Bhagavad Gita proposes that
enlightenment comes from growing beyond identification
with the temporal ego, the ephemeral world, so that one
recognises the truth of the immortal self, the absolute soul or Atman.

Through meditation, contemplation and yogic practices
the seeker is able to transcend attachment to the material world
and enter the realm of the Supreme.
